By the time the third band and Syracuse Area favorite The Neural Groove hit the Lost's stage, there was a very large crowd gathered at stage front just waiting for the musical assault that you can consistently expect from this powerful collection of raw musical talent. They are Craig Costello on vocals and horn, Dave Springall on lead guitar, Mikey Carbone on rhythm guitar, the Sammy Award winning Steve "Bwana" Carbone on bass, Sullyfong on drums and Joe Albicelli on percussion. Having been together since 1998, they have managed to amass a very long list of collective accomplishments including a 1999 Sammy Award for Best Modern Rock Group. The tightness of this group is perhaps unmatched by any other Syracuse Area bands at this time.

These six guys play nothing but the hardest hitting and explosive modern rock possible and you can see the comraderie within the band every time they give a live performance. They played several originals including "That Boy's A Wreck", my personal favorite, the video for which is currently in heavy rotation on UMTV(Underground Music Television). They put on a smoking set at this show even having members of area bands Dogs On Mars and Atoxia join them up on stage at one point during their set. Their range of musical styles keeps you coming back to hear what they can do next and their earth shattering sound surpasses all musical boundaries. You simply cannot help wanting to see them play live again and again. Make sure you pick up copies of their CD's Gorilla In A White T-Shirt and Excesstasy to play as loud as you can when you just can't get out to see them perform live.

"Good Citizen Magazine"

One of the most impressive music scenes in the northeast is most definately Syracuse, NY. The fresh, young talent that is exploding from this mid-sized college city is finally gaining some recognition throughout the rest of the country.
The Neural Groove... is a great example of a young and talented musical outfit that isn’t afraid of showing what they can do. Their music jumps from a tight hardcore riff to a country two-step. Craig Costello’s throaty growl has the rasp of a sixty year-old hard whiskey drinker.
The Neural Groove is impressive. A solid rock outfit that isn’t too shy to flaunt their musical abilities... The Neural Groove will be unstoppable.

Compilations include the 1999 Good Citizen Records Sampler, 1999 Syracuse Area Music Awards Sampler and the 2001 WKRL K-Rock Backstage Live collection, Nativ Noize.
In February 1999 Neural Groove received four SAMMY Awards nominations (Syracuse Area Music Awards).
