Nevergreen is the product of over ten years of experimentation. Drummer, Justin Passamonte, and guitarist, Mike Ortolaza, have collaborated musically since 1997. Their original music was rooted in punk rock and metal during their middle and high school years. They formed bands Drain, Toy Truck, Under the Influence, and Deadly Nevergreen, each group having a different mix of returning members and less than favorable outcomes. In late 2005, it was time for some new blood. With the addition of lead vocalist, Sara Passamonte, Nevergreen was born. Long Islander Eric Pedersen stepped in as bassist a few months later. After gigging around the Rochester bar scene for a while, the group started working on their first release The Light Show EP, and by late 2008, the official journey began. They also added second guitarist, former Deadly Nevergreen member, Dylan Emerson.
