Neversink

Neversink began in 2011 in upstate New York, with Alex on guitar and Chris on banjo. While Alex began to write, inspired by the folk revival, the two began to play around the Capital Region. During that time Neversink filled out, welcoming a rotating roster of talented and eclectic musicians, while Alex’s lyrics and composition remained the linchpin. After two years, Alex and Chris set their sights on Boston and its growing folk scene.

The two made the move in 2013, immediately immersing themselves in the scene, playing for anyone who would hear them. Shortly after the move, Alex began a solo residency at The Lansdowne Pub across the street from Fenway Park, where he met Galen and Scott. Just weeks after their introduction, Neversink welcomed the two with open arms. Within a month, Neversink scheduled a St. Patrick’s Day tour, adding good friend Pat on bass. The five continued to play together for just under a year before Chris and Pat decided to leave Neversink, pursuing other goals and careers. Since then, Neversink has operated as a trio.

In 2015 Neversink began producing their first full-length album at The Record Company in Boston, MA. With Alex’s writing at its foundation, the production grew quickly as the trio worked tirelessly at home and in the studio. Nearing the completion of the record, dear friend and drummer, Scott, returned home to Scotland for good, and Neversink was once again a duo.

The boys of Neversink released their highly anticipated debut record, Born of Words, in July 2016.
