"Golden Mixtape - NEW ROW"

Every genre can be broken down into a million and one subgenres which can be confusing and exhilarating at the same time. Take rock for instance. There’s the glam rock of the ‘70s, metal of the ‘80s, grunge in the ‘90s and today you have bands like Imagine Dragons doing a little bit of everything. That’s what led me to New Row. They’re this rock band that has an alternative sound, but they aren’t afraid to let loose and really go for it, even if it’s just a bit on their debut, self-titled record.

New Row starts with the dramatics thanks to “Belong.” From there things are just okay with “Binary” but then get a whole lot better thanks to the invigorating intoxication of “Falling Forward.” Seriously, that could play on repeat for an hour and one would never question or get bored. They’d just sit, continuously lost in the sounds. All of those keep it simple for the most part, never stepping too out of the box and going over the top. Then the record comes to an end and “Sandslide” introduces us to a new side of New Row. This side is where the rock comes in their alternative rock mindset.

Rock music comes in all shapes and forms, as do most genres, and when it comes to New Row, they do things the alternative way but add a sense of theatrics and rock n’ roll to the mix to shake things up on their self-titled debut. You can check out New Row, out now. - Golden Mixtape

New Row are a powerful young guitar-led rock-pop band from toronto, fusing immediate pop hooks with a hard rock edge.

Five supremely passionate musicians from distant geographic and musical backgrounds came together in early 2015 in the cultural melting pot and rock music haven that is Toronto, Canada--a fitting backdrop for the formation of New Row.

Fronted by the charismatic Bewlz, the band backs their catchy melodic lyrical stylings with intense song-writing to put on a dynamic live show.

They have quickly risen to prominence in the Toronto scene, headlining all the cities' top venues, and filming a special for Rogers TV. After a successful trip to Chicago and Michigan, 2016 will see further Canadian and North-Eastern U.S. bookings, plus the completed recording of their already brilliant catalog into a debut album, and release of debut single The Day That Never Ends, previewed here.
