New Cadence

New Cadence is a five-piece San Francisco based group that initially formed as a side project in 2008 by a few songwriters who wanted to explore other facets of creativity. Though the members were vested in other established projects, the songwriting came naturally and they managed to track their first EP, Baraboo, at Tiny Telephone studios in late 2010. A month later, the song “Square Foot Dimensions” was chosen by LIVE 105 radio station listeners as a top three finalist in the Not So Silent Night competition. The band members soon dropped their other projects and made New Cadence their sole focus.

In early 2011, after numerous performances and a west coast tour, New Cadence solidified their lineup and headed back into the studio with new material. Wanting to outdo their well-received first EP, they brought onboard engineer, Gabriel Shepard (Cake, Dredge, Chris Isaak, Frank Black of the Pixies), and laid down tracks in San Francisco’s historic Hyde Street Studios. The outcome was The Yesteryear EP–an ambitious sophomore undertaking set to release in July of 2012.
