Residing in Las Cruces, New Mexico Land of the crosses. NewFlesh/ Mark Ocegueda tries to capture the eerie desolate sounds of the desert and sun washed mountains. A graduate of New Mexico State University with a degree in Film and minor in Music. Newflesh is an combination of video and music creating a new wave of shoe gaze not with guitars and drums, but electronically with synths loop pedals and drum machines.

Because of how I play and the instruments I use sometimes get confused with DJs who play and mix their own samples, In a way I am a DJ put trying to push the limits of creating new sounds through introducing live instrumentation over orignal samples and layering it with instruments live to create one big mix. I Like to think i am blending ideology from the DIY culture of indie bands as well as live House DJs and creating a new world of sound.

I also like to have the shows a through be an experience with costumes and masks and visuals people can associate with the music, because of the age of internet everything must associated with visuals to create an genuine aesthetic to my music.

I often improvise some soundscapes to create an authenticity to all my live shows but still use the same set list as map and get people to recognize my music. Loops are common in my set as well, I been often inspired by artists like animal collective and andrew bird who also use loop pedals to create unique concert experiences.
