New Lasis Biography

The rap group New Lasis was formed 2 years ago by two best friends Thomas Perry a.k.a. 2 and Jawane Brooks a.k.a. Money. These two young men are both from Southern California. 2 is from Watts, CA and Money is from Long Beach, CA. Together their unique sound is like no other rap group duo. Their music details life and challenges they’ve faced growing up. And together their style is a dominating force to be respected in the music industry.

Jawane Brooks a.k.a. Money was born and raised in Long Beach, CA. Money has had a very hard time trying to get in the music industry as a young man running through the streets of Long Beach. As Money was trying to get in the rap game with little support from his fellow peers, he never stopped chasing his dream. So as each day past by Money would practice his writing skills and delivery while competing in freestyle battles at house party and small sponsored functions. One day Money met Thomas a.k.a. 2 at an event and they decided to work together in hopes of reaching their dreams.

Thomas Perry a.k.a. 2 was born and raised in Watts, CA. 2 being from the hood knew chasing his dream wouldn’t be easy due to the activities going on around him. As life grew tougher for Thomas his family, they decided to move to San Bernardino to escape some of the harsh reality and to give 2 a different outlook on life. Upon moving to San Bernardino 2 met Nuttie and worked with him for a short time on writing rhymes and his song presence. As 2 gained more experience writing, he wrote and performed on a few of Nuttie songs. It was those events and experiences that lead 2 to meet Money, with both of their ambitions and dreams the rap duo group New Lasis came to life.
