Bio

New Rap Union (NRU) was founded Janurary 1, 2006 by rap artists Duqrotiq, Redline, Sheek, and R&B singer Shanay. NRU is the flagship group of DMKR Studios. Their debut self-titled album was released March 15, 2007.

NRU's style is diverse and dynamic. Duqrotiq is hard-charging, crazy, and menacing. Redline's possesses impressive rapping speed, and he can deliver smooth poetry. In addition, Redline is a sick beat composer, and is a associate producer on the debut album. Shanay is a songwriting sensation and provides the finishing touch to the Union.

NRU is a Christian rap group and is proud of it. Make no mistake. However, NRU is determined not to be marginalized by their faith. You will hear NRU on secular radio stations, and you will find their CDs in mainstream retail locations.

NRU puts good values into practical terms. NRU talks about everyday issues, which allows them to relate to a wide audience. NRU also demonstrates that Christians can have fun too, while still maintaining a moral compass.

NRU's creation signaled the formation of DMKR Studios LLC. Their dedication attracted the attention of artists Apostello and Producer Jemo Haltom. With them on board, the record label was born.

The three members of DMKR attend Oasis Christian Fellowship in Ithaca, NY. Duqrotiq and Redline are members of the worship team. Shanay runs the children's ministry. Their faith is the most important part of their lives. Their love for Jesus and their desire to create music drives them.
