Hip-Hop band New Rap Union (NRU) was the first band under the DMKR Studios label. The band formed Jan. 1, 2006 and has been performing since 2007 following the release of their debut album. In 2010, NRU will release their 2nd album.
This hip-hop ensemble is now in its 6th year. The band was the first group to join DMKR Studios and has performed across New York State. Joined by Albany, NY area DJ C-Dub, New Rap Union delivers a highly energetic live performance, complete with choreographed dancing, soulful R&B, and engaging lyrics.
As a socially-conscious group, NRU is committed to promoting positive and constructive moral values.
NRU is based in Ithaca, NY. In 2011, the band will release their 2nd Album.
BAND MEMBERS
The band consists of Lead Singer Elishma “Lish” Farquharson of Rochester, New York, KC “Duqrotiq” Sawyer, Lead Dancer Shanequa “Shanay” Lee, Caleb “Redline” White, Xavier “Lyricist” Bourne, and DJ C-Dub of Albany, NY.
