***New Town Triptych were featured on Radio 1 on Monday 12th March***

Formed in Dec 2009 as a 3-piece and played about a dozen gigs through the 2010 while writing songs to improve the set. Recorded our first release in December 2010, "Just How You Designed" which we launched in February 2011 through our headline gig at Glasgows City Halls Recital Rooms.

We followed this with a headline gig at the West End festival gig on Saturday 4 June at Glasgow's Cottiers Theatre.

Not wasting any time we got straight back into the studio and released a double A side "Climb/Don't Want To Hear It" on in June 2011 to coincide with a Highland tour.

In August 2011 we became a four piece band when George Campbell, formerly from The Side, joined the band playing Piano. George & The Side raised serious profile throughout 2010/11 by supporting Bon Jovi at the O2 Arena in London to a capacity audience of 23,000 (via Sonicbids), as well as main stage appearances at Belladrum, performing at gonorth, performing through goevents at The Freeze Festival in Holland, performed at MIDEM, Cannes France through goevents, Main Stage at Luxembourg's largest festival performing to over 15,000, The Seedlings stage at Rockness, Belladrum, Main stage appearance at Loopallu etc.

In September 2011 we were funded by Creative Scotland to record our third release at Elba Studios, which we then released as a free download on our bandcamp in January 2012.

We take influence from many bands including The Decemberists, Death Cab For Cutie, Mumford & Sons, Frightened Rabbit, Ryan Adams, Ben Folds Five, Iron & WIne, Low Anthem, The Shins, to name a few.
