Jacksonville raised, Shamica NiA SOULz Gibson got her start in the music at an early age.  Writing her first rhyme at age 7, the emcee was certain that a career in the music industry was a destined path for her.  Prior to relocating from Jacksonville, FL to Atlanta, GA in 2006, NiA had worked with many local artists and groups in her hometown.  Going by the moniker SyryS (pronounced se-ri-ous) at the time, she impressed many with her clever lyrics and aggressive delivery.  Upon moving to Atlanta, NiA instantly began working, picking up a gig as an intern at T.I.s Grand Hustle imprint.  Interning for such a powerhouse in Atlanta at the time, she was exposed to a side of the industry that shed never experienced before, including networking and learning how to successfully design and execute a promotional campaign.  With her unique sound and witty wordplay, NiA SOULz not only stands-out as a female emcee, but as an artist in all facets.  She has gained great recognition on Atlantas open-mic scene, being named one of the best-of-the-best at Akini the Black Macs Royal Peacock open-mic.  In 2009, her Back 2 Life mixtape gained her great notoriety for its uniqueness and creativity, based on its concept of rhyming over classic hip-hop instrumentals to convey her story.  One of her most recent projects, released in 2012, titled Far From Reality, is a 6-song EP which includes many heart-filled tunes, including Right Now produced by Grand Hustle producer, Stroud, and Dream Come True featuring the Midwest sensation Kim Joyce, which was produced by Dan DFS Johnson.  Each song encompasses an unconventional sound that tells the story of young womans aspirations for success.  Nia SOULzs music falls nothing short of inspirational, and her story is sure to be an inspiration for all women, artists and anyone with the desire to follow their dreams.
