"Really enjoyable listening"

Really enjoyable listening, good songs, well played/sung and well produced, a few folkily acoustic but mostly with really interesting mixtures of instruments, textures, sounds and moods. Likable and creative. I hope they'll upload the lyrics on their site. - Stephanie Bennett (Harp player for Paul McCartney and Beck)

Bio

The first album from Nick and the Jungle Band combines breezy summertime acoustic pop with ambient electronic layers that isn’t afraid to sometimes dive into a darker, more serious place.

Composed of three Southern California natives, the band started out as a single soul, Nicholas Jerrems, writing and recording his own personal music. Without compromising his own sound, he then collaborated with multiple talents including Jacob Nee (Percussion), and Jon Ruiz (Guitar). The early works were on polar opposite sides of the musical spectrum. With both a love for acoustic music and electronic music, Nick settled on the idea that it didn’t matter what genre the band dove into, what mattered was that it was exactly what they felt and wanted to write.

The album at times is bright, optimistic, and lively, but definitely shows the more personal, darker views on life with such tracks as Barely Human, Maps and Cataracts, and Beneath the Sea. With no definite direction except to be completely honest and to write music that is from the heart, Nick and the Jungle Band continues and hopes to create more music.
