Bio

It all began in the fall of 1994 with a band called Straight Logic. Vocalist/Percussionist/Keyboardist Nick Bono joined his first band, in the small town of Northport, Long Island. Fast forward to the year 2001. Nick Bono, a senior majoring in Music Business at New York University, finds himself fully immersed in vocal music. Building upon his many years of classical training, Nick moves away from percussion and chooses voice as his principal instrument. Thereafter he is appointed the Musical Director of the all male a cappella group, Mass Transit. This new position of leadership sheds new light on Nick’s passion for singing and love of vocal harmony. Now in a place where his musical arranging skills and knowledge of voice flourish, his passion for writing original compositions becomes stronger then ever. He begins writing songs in which he acts as the lead vocalist and plays all the instruments. Looking to further show off his arranging skills, he calls upon his friends to add some additional punch to his live sound with some backup vocals. To further expand his songwriting options, Bono calls on his old friend from his first band, Ryan Luken (a virtuoso guitarist) to complete his musical vision. Now there wasn't anything stopping Nick's creativity.
Bono, now a much more accomplished musician with years of instrumental and vocal training in his arsenal, has put together melodic music that appeals to teens as well as adults. With influences in pop, rock, techno, hip hop, and jazz, Bono’s many years of performance and composition combine seamlessly with the modern music market. Nick also has fully immersed himself into digital recording. Using programs like Pro Tools, Sound Forge, and Wavelab he single handedly mixes and masters his tracks. He even records the tracks. So, keep an eye out for Nick Bono’s personally released album. Due out, fall 2002.
