This is your Daily 2% - Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one "chill" track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal. This track is for those times. We are just your milkmen and I'm here to make a delivery. Chill... Today's delivery is brought to you by Nick Camillo. Everybody needs a little(or a lot!) of folk/indie in their life. It's one of those genre's that always tends to carry some type of heavy emotion with it whether its happy or said or whatever the case may be. This brings us to Nick Camillo who has just recently released his free album, Ad Infinitum, which is his first full indie release. When you visit Nick's facebook page you'll see his profile picture which is an homage to the Life Aquatic film from Wes Anderson. And if you've seen any of Wes' movies and know the music chosen for the soundtracks then you already have a good idea what to expect from Nick's album. Its full of music that draws influences from the 60's, 70's and beyond, with a splash of Jack Johnson thrown in. The track I'm bringing to you today is called "Aeroplane" which has somewhat of a sadder overtone but is one of the best tracks, on the album, to showcase Nick's vocal range and ability. You definitely need to check out the album. Check out the track and chill...... - Earmilk
When reviewing this album, it is impossible not to make comparisons to the Fleet Foxes, and everybody inevitably does; his voice is extremely reminiscent of Pecknold, and combined with the acoustic sound of the album it is a pretty much perfect comparison.
The album starts out with a beautiful little instrumental introduction, showing off his knack for beautiful acoustic melodies, by the end of the song you’re already relaxed. This leads into “Eight Foot Flower” which further reinforces the Fleet Foxes vibe, there are some harmonic difficulties on the higher pitches, his voice is not extremely well trained yet obviously; but it continues to exude an extremely relaxed vibe. The album continues to “Something I Ought to Know” a beautifully contemplative love song; its all about learning to be more relaxed in life, and the album definitely puts out that feeling.
In “Aeroplane” he makes a clever reference to Neutral Milk Hotel, referring to their epochal album “In The Aeroplane Over The Sea”, indeed he does seem eager to show off his musical chops, but there’s no denying he needs practice. The rest of the album falls into the same groove, with no real gems that I noticed after “Something I Ought to Know”.
After an email, he kindly sent me several B-Sides, one of which “Don’t Stop” was something absolutely extraordinary, it seemed like a bastard mash-up of the Fleet Foxes and MGMT. I would encourage him to at least experiment in this interesting new direction, the indie scene is always looking for something new, and I heard the beginnings of a lot in that one track; if he plays his cards right with it, it could become a much bigger thing than he was likely expecting.
All in all, the album was good, but needed some improvement, mostly in vocal range; I give it a 7.3/10

We are told by our editor* not to write our reviews in first person, but I’ll tell you what…since I’m the owner of this publication, I don’t give a sh*t; At all. I think your music is wonderful and deserves be shared not only beyond Reddit, the people on your website, and on facebook, but also to our fans and readers who loyally come back to our site wanting great music. My magazine & website’s mission is to showcase & share well-written indie music and also give an accurate review on new albums (and we give away a ton of free music too). Sometimes, the artists & albums that our magazine writers review are only “OK,” but tonight, Nick, I have the pleasure of sharing a hidden gem; your latest album, Ad Infinitum.
Your voice; Calm and smooth with great harmonies and melodies that incite happiness, “the feeling of home”, love, contemplation, confusion (listen to “Silver and Sweet“), loneliness, and the occasional excitement.
The music; Well-mixed & mastered, folk, mid-tempo, awesomely-nostalgic, alternative, toe-tap-a-licious(yes, new word, start using it!), fingerpicked & strummed acoustic or classical guitars that are (somewhat) delay & reverb-ladden. Throughout the album, the addition of percussion, compressed electric guitar, drums, violin, & mandolin complete your relaxed and warm sound.
Lyrics: Heartfelt love songs, stories of reminiscence, uncertainty, and more.
The combination; This album is the epitome of “pure acoustic delight.” With hints of Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens, City and Colour, earlier John West tunes, and the occasional Jason Mraz-like never ending alliterated verses (listen to the third verse of “Something I Ought to Know“), you will win new fans, unknowingly contribute to first date “scores,” and share your talented presence with the world.
Nick, your album’s energy was received exactly as stated on your facebook page, “invisible waves of love”. The presence of love is definitely captured and shining through your voice, playing, and studio quality. From the first instrumental intro track, I knew this would be a great listen, but then when I heard your voice matched with the music, I knew it would be even better listen. Your track “Something I Ought To Know” left me puzzled as to what the lyrics mean. Can you elaborate, please? - Indie Music Reviewer

Bio
Nick Camillo's romance with music began after picking up his first guitar at the tender age of 12 in his Stratford, CT basement. Since 2003 Nick Camillo has been a part of the Connecticut, New York, and Boston music scenes, and currently resides in Washington DC. Although he has been recording for 7 years, Camillo has recently released Ad Infinitum, his first official album.
Blending the warm acoustics of Simon and Garfunkel or Elliott Smith with the sound of alternative artists, such as Grizzly Bear or Fleet Foxes, Camillo’s latest work displays a dialogue between his roots and contemporary influences.Working with longtime friend and former band mate Sam Casaccio, the two bring a production quality to the album worthy of Camillo’s songwriting.
A long time folk artist, Nick Camillo creates music that is refreshing and simple on the surface, while communicating deeper emotional topics. His music experiments with sentiments of beautiful simplicity, calm contemplation, and lyrical depth. The result is an album that truly moves the listener.
