Bio
I'm a songwriter/composer from Malaysia, and my main genres are pop, rock, Christian/inspirational, and my absolute favorite, contemporary musical theatre - which basically means whatever genre is required for a theatrical project!
Right now I'm focusing on writing radio-friendly songs in addition to working on several musical theatre projects. I'm looking to meet creative people - composers, playwrights, musicians, lyricists - for friendships and collaborations.
I acknowledge my limitations with regards to vocals and recording quality, which is why I'm looking for skilled and experience people in the industry to work with. I'd love to meet new people who might be looking to record / produce original songs, to collaborate on new material, to work on a musical theatre project... if you like my music - or would just like to say hello - drop me a line!
During my years of study in Perth, Australia between 2002 and 2005, I focused mainly on musical theatre projects. These included my first full-length original musical staged in November '05, the Christmas-themed 'Follow The Light', which was awarded Second Place for Best Musical and a Special Certificate For Writing (Book, Music & Lyrics) in Perth's Finley Awards for Independent Theatre 2005, and is currently in preparations for a larger-scale 2007 version in Western Australia.
Apart from these, I've written themes and scores for several short films and TV shows, which is something I still enjoy doing.
Other songwriting 'accomplishments' include being a Hot Pick Winner and Distinction commendation recipient in the Pacific Songwriting Competition for 2005 and 2006 respectively, and finalist for the Malaysian Revival Songwriting Competition 2006, in addition to a number of Christian songs being used in churches in Australia and Malaysia.
