"Tap in with Nick Crucial on Rosecransave"

Like anything in this world, success is a lot more fun when you have people to share it with. At times, creativity can be that way as well–allowing you to bounce ideas off of somebody else and collaborate to conjure up the best peace of content possible. As 1/2 of popular Las Vegas rap duo, POWMINDSET, Nick Crucial understands this notion perfectly, and it’s why Per Üsual, his solo debut album, is so impressive the further you break it down.

At 45-minutes, Per Üsual may seem like a long project, but the more you dive into the content, the more clear it is that everything has a place. Showcasing a razor sharp flow and a knack for clever lines over engaging melodies, Crucial proves he can carry an album by himself, something many artist struggle to do once transitioning from a group. Boasting features from Doanman, Jayy and more, he also takes full advantage of his pristine production list, which features a who’s who of Sin City producers in Asaiah Ziv, Wave MMLZ, OG Moose and more. Oh yeah, there’s also a POW reunion on, “$.D.” which features Nate Quest and is one of the best records on the project, if you’re feeling nostalgic.

"Nick Crucial Debut on Very Bad Mag"

During the last few years, Las Vegas Hip-Hop has taken tremendous strides towards establishing it’s presence. Artists like Asaiah Ziv, Richie Bux, Papichuloteej and more have started to break through both regionally and nationally, helping spark the interest within the city. Hailing from popular 702 duo, POWMINDSET, rapper Nick Crucial throws his hat into the ring, releasing his solo debut, Per Üsual.
Clocking in at 12-tracks and 45-minutes, Per Üsual, is a well-produced, lyrical affair that finds Crucial absolutely blacking out over course of the album. Utilizing beats from Sin City heavy hitters like Ziv, Chris Punsalan and Wave MMLZ, Crucial takes the boom-bap inspired production and tears it apart. As for features, he calls on names like Doanman, Jayy and of course, his POW partner Nate Quest — but it’s his collaboration with OG Moose, “New Skyscraper,” that serves as the standout of the project. Sporting an incredibly infectious chorus, a few scathing verses and lots of swagger, this track right here is the one I put my money on to gain some traction.

Bio

Raised in Las Vegas, NV, the Filipino-American rapper has blazed a distinct path for himself amongst the growing hip-hop scene in his city. Formerly known as ‘Nova’ to his earlier following, Crucial is not new to being an established artist with a clear vision of who he is and where he is going. Defined by his faith in God and self, the power in his words not only reflect but create the world around him. While attending UNLV, he found himself in collaboration with contemporary rap artist, A$AP Rocky. This led to working in the studio alongside A$AP Mob at SXSW 2016. After collaborating on a trio of conceptual projects under POWMINDSET, Crucial sounds polished as ever on his solo debut album “Per Üsual”.
