Bio
Electronic music composer, specialising in audio for digital media. Style largely influenced by Aphex Twin, FourTeT, Autechre and Massive Attack.
Began studying guitar and songwriting age 13, whilst experimenting with tape loops, cassette four tracks and fx boxes. Spent school years studying classical music, composition and guitar technique.
After leaving school spent 2 1/2 years studying music technology and dance music production at Red Tape Studios in Sheffield. Became involved in extended electronic composition projects as well as performing and recording as member of jazz/funk band Salty Yet Sweet.
Continued academic studies at Hull University, persuing BA degree in creative music technology. Focused studies on composing for and producing digital video/CGI. Graduated 2004 with 1st Class Honours Degree.
Completed MA in creative music technology at Bangor university in sept 2005, now working as a freelance electronic music composer.
Nick has just been signed by new indy record label Artificial Bliss (www.artificialbliss.com), and will be releasing albums and singles exclusively with them under the name Irlos.
Nick has released an ep of electroacoustic compositions under his own name at www.acousmatic.co.uk.
Nick is also a partner in sound design business GET-AUDIO, more on that soon.
