In 1993 Nick Howard was signed to BMG Records in Australia, Arista Records in the United Kingdom, (through Simon Cowell of AMERICAN IDOL fame) and Ariola Records in Germany, as a solo performer, a singer/songwriter. He recorded an album over the next 12 months, all of which was produced and recorded in New York, Los Angeles and London.

Nick co-wrote and produced songs with some great international writers and producers such as Tommy Faragher, Rick Will, Phil Harding, Ian Curnow, John Capek and Randy Goodrem, to name a few. Nick’s album included 3 singles, ‘Everybody needs somebody’, the top 40 song ‘Who fell in love’ and a song penned by huge international artist Robbie Neville called ‘I’ll build you a bridge’.
During his time in the UK, Nick was involved as a performer on the UK Smash Hits Tour and Poll Winners Party, with such acts as East 17, Boyzone, Take That, M People and many more.

In 1997, Nick began his own production company ‘RnB Music Pty Ltd and wrote, recorded, produced and developed young up and coming artists.

Following the establishment of the production company, Nick wrote the song ‘Down’ for the debut No.1 album for ‘Bardot’ and also wrote and produced the theme song for World Champion boxer Kostya Tsyzu ‘Something worth fighting for’, performed by ‘Bardot’.

In 1999, Nick then formed Tonic Music Productions with New York writer/producer Tommy Faragher, and they specialized in the development of new fresh talent in the United States and Australia.

Nick has also other songs featuring in the Brazilian and Spanish markets, after a writing trip to Los Angeles to work with songwriter Steve Singer, and they achieved No.1 success in Brazil with the song ‘Perdi Voce’ performed by the hit group Twister.

In 2000 Nick signed a new publishing contract with Sony Publishing and at the same time Tonic signed a production deal with Sony Music Australia.

Nick wrote most and produced the first album for the three girls who were the singing group, X3 (Times 3), the concept for which was built and developed by Nick, and signed them as a priority act to Sony Music Australia. The first single ‘Girl like me’ written by T-Boz from TLC made its debut into the Australian charts entering in the top 30.

In 2001, Nick produced and wrote the song ‘How do you know’ for the duo ‘Gemini’ who went on to win the No.1 Sydney radio station, 2DAYFM’s HOT 30 ‘Teen star’ competition. From here, Nick was able to secure the group a recording contract with Warner Music

Nick continued his involvement with the television series ‘Pop stars’ in their 3rd series, producing 4 of the 7 tracks on the ‘Superstitious’ EP of the finalists which charted Top 5 in Australia and he continued on to write and produce with ‘Pop star’ winner, Scott Cain (His single, ‘Movin’On’, debuted at No.1 in the Australian chart) including 2 songs from his Top 40 album ‘Controlled Foley’.

Nick has written and produced in his studio with some chart topping artists such as Delta Goodrem, Selwyn and Sophie Monk.

In 2005 Nick was musical producer for the TV series, ‘Girl TV’ produced by Southern Star Endemol and shown daily on the 7 network. The series involved the writing of some 12 original songs by Nick and the production of a total of 26 songs (2 songs showcased as music videos weekly) The ‘Girl TV’ album was released on Sony Music.

Nick also was involved as a writer/ producer in Auswrite and co wrote songs with the Murlyn team of Mal and Frederick of the famed ‘Dead Mono’ team, Thomas Who also from Murlyn, Marcella Detroit and David Campbell.

Nick produced and co wrote a new album for Scott Cain for ABC music released in October 2004. This was a deal acquired by Nick and Sloane (SHE Artist Management). Nick co-wrote most of the album with Scott. Over the next 12 months Scott went on to hosting his own show on the Disney Channel, AMTV, which that year he won a coveted ASTRA Award for, and received a further 2 nominations. His profile continued to climb by being promoted into host of the high rating Studio D show.

Nick had a song on the new priority children’s television show on the Nine Network, ‘New MacDonald’s Farm’. An album with Sony will be released later this year.

2005 proved a very exciting year with Nick travelling to the USA for 3 months to co ordinate the production and marketing schedule for new Australian artist Annette Z.

2006 and 2007 Nick was Head of Music for Artist and Entertainment Group, and designed their music and talent development curriculum. He taught and trained all ages in singing, vocal production, studio recording, live performance and how the music industry works.

Nick is currently seeking talent for the Universal Music project Copy Catz… With a scheduled release date of 2009.
