Biography

NICKI WILSON. . . The name alone makes one think of the all time great singers and songwriters like Billie Holiday and Nancy Wilson. However, when one hears this beautiful singer/songwriter's dynamic, sultry voice it becomes obvious that she has the talent and gift to bridge the gap from the greatest musicians and singers of the past to the hottest artists of today. While she has the looks and voice of a diva, Nicki Wilson's personality and talent show an innocence and a depth that we are desperately missing in the music industry today.

Originally, from the great city of Chicago, Illinois, Nicki Wilson has always had a passion for music. She spent much of her youth singing in church as well as playing the piano and french horn. Later on Nicki Wilson began singing at Karaoke clubs in the Chicago area. However, in 2001 she realized that the only way for her to achieve true happiness was to follow her heart and share her musical talent with the world. Accordingly, in 2001 Nicki Wilson moved from Chicago to the New York City metropolitan area to follow her dream.

Now living in New Jersey, Nicki Wilson is working on songs with some great up and coming producers in the music industry. She also is performing at open mics throughout the New York and New Jersey areas in order to share her music with the world. Nicki Wilson was also selected to perform in the 2004 New York International Music Festival. Just listen to her debut song, entitled Heartbreaka, and one can't wait to hear more from this special artist.

As you can see and hear, it is only a matter of time before Nicki Wilson takes the musical world to a place that will put her among the greatest musicians of all time.

Lyrics

Heartbreaka

Written By: Nicki Wilson

(verse1)
See I was hurt in the past
Relationships that didn’t last
I was used and abused
I was played for a fool
Now I’ve learned how to play the game
You treat me wrong I’ll do you the same way
Won’t let myself get burned again
Cause now it’s my time to win

(chorus)
I’m a heartbreaka baby
That’s just the way it is
So if you’re looking for something serious
You need to keep on movin’
Oooh
I’m a heartbreaka baby
That’s what they call me
I can’t give you all of my love
But I can show you ecstasy

(verse2)
I used to have a good heart
Just needed to find a brand new start
But now I turn as cold as ice
If a man’s playing with my mind
I don’t know if I’m ready for love
Right now I’m still all broken up
I really, really wanna change
Tired of livin’ this way

(chorus)
I’m a heartbreaka baby
That’s just the way it is
So if you’re looking for something serious
You need to keep on movin’
Oooh
I’m a heartbreaka baby
That’s what they call me
I can’t give you all of my love
But I can show you ecstasy

(bridge)
I know I’ll never be the same
This broken heart caused me to change
Now I know that love means pain
This is the only way, the only way

(chorus)
I’m a heartbreaka baby
That’s just the way it is
So if you’re looking for something serious
You need to keep on movin’
Oooh
I’m a heartbreaka baby
That’s what they call me
I can’t give you all of my love
But I can show you ecstasy

(chorus repeats)
I’m a heartbreaka baby
That’s just the way it is
So if you’re looking for something serious
You need to keep on movin’
Oooh
I’m a heartbreaka baby
That’s what they call me
I can’t give you all of my love
But I can show you ecstasy

Extraordinary

Written By: Nicki Wilson

(chorus)
I was meant to be extraordinary
I was meant to change the world
I was meant to make a difference
I was meant to be someone

(verse 1)
In a rat race kind of world
I’m not your average girl
I’m a woman
With expectations high
Sometimes it’s hard to swallow my pride
Everyone’s tryin’ to survive
I’m the one tryin’ to live before I die
See the life you live is the one you choose
And I refuse to lose
It’s up to me
I know I can achieve anything

(chorus)
I was meant to be extraordinary
I was meant to change the world
I was meant to make a difference
I was meant to be someone

(verse 2)
Times are changing everyday
Just tryin’ to find my place
Competition tryin’ to push me out the way
Sometimes my life feels like a race
Struggle to keep up the pace
Cause there’s no way
I’m coming in last place
See I can’t give up
Not now, no how
Come to far to let myself down
It’s my destiny
I was meant to be extraordinary

(chorus x 2)
I was meant to be extraordinary
I was meant to change the world
I was meant to make a difference
I was meant to be someone

What It Feels Like

Written By: Nicki Wilson

(verse 1)
6 years old
Daddy left you in the cold
No explanation, no place to go
You cried
But your tears soon dried
Sadness turned to madness
And took over your life
You gave up hope on ever finding love
Thought it was something people just dreamed of
Know you’re scared to let me inside
Hard to tell true love from a lie

(chorus)
I know what it feels like
When you just can’t sleep at night
An emptiness that fills you up
Fallen so low you just can’t get up

I know what it feels like
Every time I see your eyes
Want to touch the deepest part of your soul
But how can I love a heart that’s so cold
I know

(verse 2)
You can’t hide
From the pain that’s deep inside
Thoughts that lie
In the back of your mind
All this time
You’ve tried to deny
But you can’t just keep living a lie
Anger fills your mind, body, and soul
You take it out on those who care the most
Can’t change what you’ve been through in the past
But I’ll do my best to understand

(chorus)
I know what it feels like
When you just can’t sleep at night
An emptiness that fills you up
Fallen so low you just can’t get up

I know what it feels like
Every time I see your eyes
Want to touch the deepest part of your soul
But how can I love a heart that’s so cold
I know

(bridge)
Cause every time I try to reach you
There’s something in the way
That won’t let me through
I try to break down your walls
But you’re the only one that can make them fall

(chorus x 2)
I know what it feels like
When you just can’t sleep at night
An emptiness that fills you up
Fallen so low you just can’t get up

I know what it feels like
Every time I see your eyes
Want to touch the deepest part of your soul
But how can I love a heart that’s so cold
I know
