Bio
Nick Kitchen is a talented and exciting young performer from Grayson, Kentucky. Having a broad musical background in classical, contemporary Christian, pop, country, and southern gospel (both standard and progressive), Nick brings a fusion of style in concert. "I've always been in to a very eclectic range of music. One minute, you might find me listening to an old Cathedrals' record and the next it might be the smooth pop harmonies of 4Him. You never really know what song I'll be humming along with." This dynamic blend of music has impacted Nick's vocal style as well. Having cut his musical teeth in contemporary music, he brings a unique spin on modern southern gospel, the music Nick has grown to love and sing.
He attended Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Mount Vernon, Ohio, as an English major and a religion minor. His time at MVNU set the stage for musical growth, as well as personal and spiritual growth. While attending college, Nick sang tenor in the college Chorale and several different college outreach groups (including three men’s Southern gospel quartets, a mixed trio and a mixed quartet), singing on weekends and during the summer at churches and camps. He also had the privilege of performing internationally in Frankfort, Germany and Nassau, Bahamas as well as different conventions in Houston, Texas and Nashville, TN.
Nick is an active member of the Grayson First Church of the Nazarene, where his musical ministry began. "I love to sing all over the place, but there are very few musical memories as dear to me, as singing for my "family" at church. Their support and love have help to shape me in my ministry." In the past several years, Nick has realized a passion for and a call to music ministry. “It’s not just about the music—although I’ll be quick to admit that I love music about as well as anything else, but it is so much more than that. Bringing a message to people, whatever they are going through, letting them know that God loves them and wants to have a personal, saving relationship with them is what it is all about.”
