"Nick O'Connor"

While Nick O'Connor is only 21 years old, the breadth and scope of his solo debut, Lady in Pink, has the feel of an album made by someone a good decade or two older. Although O'Connor, whose voice at times recalls that of Cat Stevens, has a solid roots and folk foundation, he also draws from a fairly wide pool of musical inspiration. He takes a stab at a rock anthem with "Freeze Out," dips into the funk on "My Debt Keep Comin' Back" and "Spiritual Seasonings," and delivers something of a Gerry Rafferty-meets-Bob Dylan foot-stomping tune with "Where Does the Road End?" While the disc has its share of sunny, up-tempo tracks, it's on the slower ballads, like the title cut and "You Know I Love You," where O'Connor really excels. - Westword

Bio

Born and raised in Colorado, Nick has had a fire burning inside with a love of and for music all his life. This fire has inspired countless songs which had to be written about the journey of life we all experience. Through the hills and valleys, the storms and peace, the love of music has carried him along. A friend who's always there! And Nick wants to share it all with you.

Nick has teamed up with producer/engineer John Macy to create his latest work of art “Fly Away.” “I don't just communicate my interpretation of my world...I strive to objectively observe and report what I see, both from an external and internal perspective.” Nick's last LP, "Lady in Pink", has received substantial airplay on KBCO, and many other Colorado radio stations including KGNU, KRFC, and KCSU. The song “Where Does The Road End?” was also selected by KBCO to be featured on the 2009 Bolder Boulder Compilation.

Nick is looking for booking opportunities nationally. Nick's performances are focused more on the lyrical and melodic tunes he has composed, and this is mixed with a dynamic and emotion rarely presented by current singer/songwriters.
