Bio

From Portland’s Crystal Ballroom to Eugene’s McDonald Theater, Nick Peets has shared the stage with some very influential artists, including the Neville Brothers, Guster, North Mississippi All Stars, and Tony Furtado.

Laced with whisperings of artists like Tom Petty, Gram Parsons, the Grateful Dead and Jackson Browne, Peets debut solo album, Twilight, revisits the songwriting tradition that moved him to play music in the first place.

While Twilight speaks to wanderer in all of us, it was in his hometown of Portland, OR that the record was created. Recorded at 8 Ball Studios with engineer Rob Stroup (Scott Fisher, Debra Arlyn), Peets enlisted an “A” list cast of hometown musicians for the record. Tony Furtado, Dave Coey (Kerosene Dream), Paul Brainard (Richmond Fontaine), Chris Robley (Norfolk & Western), Anders Bergstrom (Climber), and Matt Voth (Flatirons) all came on board to support Peets' songs.

The result is a mellow, rootsy ride that hits the spot like a cold beer on a hot summer afternoon. From the stillness of “Cover Me” to driving down the road with “Jackson Browne” or escaping south of the border in “Acapulco,” Peets' sun-soaked melodies and radiant lyrics manage to pull you into whatever world he enters.
