Nick Red

A native of Fort Worth, TX, Nick Red began rapping publically while in elementary school at the tender age of six. After being overheard reciting lyrics to classmates his teacher was so impressed that she promptly took him from class to class to rap for his peers, teachers and other school staff. From that moment on, Nick Red knew he wanted to be a rapper. Due to his father being part owner of a recording studio, Nick Red was afforded the opportunity to just hang around the studio, observe the complete creative process and study the large collection of music cd’s of all genres lying around the studio. In the process, Nick Red’s appreciation for music and talent for creating music mature beyond his age was developed.

In the years to follow Nick Red begin to hone his craft by rapping in talent shows, church conferences, open mics, parties and where ever else there was a microphone and an audience. At age 15 like many other youth Nick Red begin posting his music on YouTube, but unlike many he began to create a major buzz, garnering nearly 800,000 views of his music in a short amount of time on his original page. He then formed the rap collective, W.i.N. Productions and began passing out his mix cd’s at school and at parties.

At the top of 2011 Nick Red signed an exclusive recording contract with Itisso Media Group and is currently in the studio completing the recording of his first official mix tape titled "Nick Red Was Here". The aptly titled album is set to stamp his imprint firmly in the hip hop domain. Full of lyrical imagery, charisma, truthfulness and a flow that can’t be denied, Nick Red Was Here is destined to tag the world of hip hop and mark his presence prominently in the game. The first single and video, "Songs I Made" ft. Six2 dropped on December 15 and is already creating a citywide buzz and setting the tone for the album release scheduled for January 27, 2012, his 18th birthday.
