Nicky Diglin

A kiwi songstress, born in England to a Jazz musician and a Classical Pianist; Nicky grew up in the small town of Levin, surrounded by rich and varied musical influences.
At 13 years old, having learnt piano from the age of six, Nicky discovered she had a voice. From that day onwards singing was a passion and brought purpose and meaning to her life.
Beginning with musical theatre and talent quests, Nicky's unique tone was soon recognised. She was selected at 15 to record for the television show "Wannabes" and make a music video. This lead to more local recognition and performance opportunities.

A love for songwriting really began in Nicky's later college years. Forming the band "CounterClockwise" which placed in Rockquest 2004 and 2005, Nicky won awards recognising her songwriting skill and acknowledging her musicianship as a female artist.

In pursuit of a safe and solid career, Nicky stepped back from the music scene in the following years.
Last year, having been starved of music for far too long, Nicky was ready to share her songs with the world.
Knocked back by illness for a large part of the past year, Nicky is now writing with new perspective, passion and inspiration and is excited for opportunities to share this with her audiences.

Experienced in Auckland's bar/restaurant scene, Nicky is often called upon to play at public events, private functions and weddings.
Nicky plays both guitar and piano and is ready to play as a solo artist, as a trio or with a full band to suit the stage or circumstance.

Likened to artists such as Hollie Smith and Joss Stone, Nicky's voice echoes deeply her experience of life, with all of its beauty, love, pain and loss.
A unique sound and heart-achingly raw songs, Nicky is a guaranteed crowd pleaser.
