Bio
Nicky Ray is a vocalist, guitarist and sound recording artist who has been playing lead guitar since the age of 14. He has played with musicians who later joined popular groups such
as Lakeside, ConFunkShun, The Masqueraders and O.V. Wright.
He co-founded the group 24/7 The Band in 1995 which has been the opening act for artists K-Ci and Jo-Jo, Slave, The Isley Brothers and many others. Along with his band, he has also made television appearances. In 2008, the band changed their name to the Playa's Choice Band.
On record and in concert, Nicky Ray and the Playa's Choice Band creates a unique stage performance to fit the audience. Nicky Ray has performed on many stages including Six Flags Over Texas and at Casino Hotels. As a solo artist, Nicky Ray released his debut album: "Come Up" five weeks after releasing a Gospel comedy album, titled "The Truth" which he recorded and produced for the Keep It Real O'Neal Radio Show.
Featuring over 11 tracks, "Come Up" includes all originals which crosses the genres of R&B, Zydeco, Soul, Gospel and Old School Funk.
