Nicky Sharpe

A Liverpool girl with a sweet voice that has been described as unique. My songs are all stories, my interpretations of the experiences of others. Self-preservation makes it rare for me to write about myself, but all of my songs are written and performed as if the experience was mine

Born and raised in Liverpool, England, I've been singing for a long time. I didn't find my solo-singing feet until I was about ten and had spent all my time before that blending into the school choir.

Now I'm in college on a Performing Musician course and plan to head to the London-based University next year.

I've been playing guitar for only about two years but started writing songs pretty much right away, and still perform some of those first songs. I believe in the quality of my writing, or I wouldn't do it.

I've got a big personality and an open mind, I'm good with on-stage chatter and talking with the crowd.

Can't Escape You

Written By: Nicky Sharpe

Surprise me, victimise me,
Take my breath away,
Isolate me, suffocate me
For another day.

Surround me, impound me,
Force me to the floor.
Deflate me, berate me,
Til I can take no more

Pin me to my heartache so that I can’t run,
Pull and push and scratch you will until I come undone.
String me to your cruel names, so that I can’t hide,
Bash and burn and strike and kill me from the inside.

I can’t escape you, no whoa
I won’t confront you, no no,
I cannot live like someone who did wrong,
I will not hold on, for very long.

Oh, make me whole again,
Won’t you give back my soul again?
Let me be in control again,
Of my life.
Take your claws out of me,
Why won’t you just let me be,
Let me be who I wanna be,
Deep inside.

Let go before it’s too late,
Before it’s too late,
Before it’s too late,

I can’t escape you, no whoa
I won’t confront you, no no,
I cannot live like someone who did wrong,
I will not hold on, for very long.

Let go before it’s too late.
