Nico Newton

Dominique Dequan Newton, aka Nico Newton, was born January 22, 1992 in the West Side of Chicago.  Growing up in the West Side of Chicago can take the lives of multiple boys and men daily due to the violence; which is considered the way of life there on its streets.  Nico’s mother, Ericka Ivy, was determined to provide safety for her children by keeping them off the streets, and occupying them inside the home by injecting music into the family’s blood.  Mentored by his grandmother, a talented vocalist,  Nico was performing songs and dances from the Temptations and Five Heartbeats in his aunt's living room at 6 years old. The love of music became the way of life for the entire family, and A. Good was exposed to a wide range of music. He had a personal connection and was moved by the The Fugees, Rakim, Tupac, Jay Z, Nas and The Notorious B.I.G; they are the inspiration for the music he creates today. 

Frightened by the increasing gang violence and pressure from the gangs, Ivy didn’t hesitate. In 2005 when Nico was 13, Ivy had the opportunity to uproot the family and move to St. Petersburg,Florida. This is when Nico Newton would mature in his craft and begin to use his gift of creating music to move the crowds.  Nico Newton created hits that had the city of St. Petersburg buzzing while performing at multiple Artist Showcases, and working with some of the hottest DJ’s in Florida. 

Nico is networking with promoters so he can give his gift and creativity to the world.
