Bio

I have worked in nearly every facet of the music industry from merchandise to booking, audio engineering to managing, marketing to touring. My employment began in the USA, but I now call my home Sydney, Australia. I currently manage, book, and consult to bands, record labels, tours, and I look after The Association of Artist Managers. My heart and passion lie with independent music and business. My goal is to embody a resource that enables artists to realise their goals and build long term, sustainable careers.

While completing my BA degree in Communications from the University of Colorado, I worked as the marketing manager for an artists’ management company (Madison House) and the assistant production manager for a local theatre (The Fox Theatre). This company trail-blazed the now commonly known 360 Degree relationship, however it was artist owned, and successfully reached from booking, management and merchandising to a record label, ticketing company and travel agency. However, tiring of staring at a computer screen I started spending my nights at The Fox Theatre in Boulder Colorado, and I fell in love with the science of sound.

I decided to move to Sydney to further my production skills, earning a diploma in Audio Engineering. I established an independent record label and, at that point, built a recording studio and began managing and touring emerging artists. Soon enough I decided to further update my skills and I received my Masters in Arts Management from the joint venture between the Australian Institute of Music and The Sydney Opera House. With this latest degree I was able to start lecturing at the Institute and was elected as Executive Secretary for the Association of Artist Managers, all the while furthering my artists’ endeavours. I am currently Gay Paris and Art Rush, and recently started co-managing Kira Puru. I have managed several other artists throughout my career.

I have spent much of my management career to date in the commercial music industry. My education, experience, disciplined and achievement oriented personality and skill set allow me to bridge the gap between the arts and commerce. I have proven project management and event management skills, specifically concerning relationship management, budget and contract management in a number of different arts businesses and organisations. My eclectic experience enables me to speak the language of a wide range of individual clients: including corporate executives; technical experts; internal venue caretakers and administrators; and various disciplines throughout the arts, from visual to performance artists, to contemporary rock stars or classical performers.

I live, breathe and dream about my professional projects. I love my profession, the artists, art and music.
