"New Sounds: Nico Rivers stirs the songwriters pot in the emphatic ‘Tidal Wave’"

"Blurring the lines between indie rock and folk, Boston singer/songwriter Nico Rivers exudes a raw passion through his music." - Rob Duguay - Vanyaland (2017) - Vanyaland

"Nico River & the Black Grass - 'Tidal Wave'"

"Truly addictive and artistic." - Bryon William - Indie Spoonful (2017) - Indie Spoonful

"Nico Rivers - To The Bone Review - Skope Magazine"

"Acoustic strums lead the way on “Birds in Trees” which is all melody, lyrics and slight percussion. The track toes the line of Alt/Indie and folk leanings with a slight urgent strain in Rivers’ vocal delivery. The anecdotal lyrical matter highlights his prowess as a songwriter." - Skope Magazine

"Nico Rivers - To The Bone Review - Skope Magazine"

"Simply, this is a collection of seven, strong songs that speak to the listener even in their simplistic, stripped down form. The arrangement of the album is also to be commended with three new offerings and the addition of bonus tracks makes this one a veritable gift for fans." - Skope Magazine

"Nico Rivers - To The Bone Review - Neufutur Magazine"

"Your Heart… makes strong use of the open spaces that exist. Rivers is able to make an alluring effort that will stick with listeners long after the track ceases." - Neufutur Magazine

"Fresh Track: Nico Rivers “Tidal Wave”"

"Nico and crew manage to span a host of landscapes through their exploration of differing sounds and emotions." - Brian Carroll - Red Line Roots (2017) - Red Line Roots

"Artist of the Month"

November 2012 - ROCKWiRED RADiO

"Nico Rivers - To The Bone Review - Music Emissions"

"Still, with To the Bone, Rivers has come up with his own take on the folk-Americana which has increased in popularity and prevalence in recent years. What makes him different is that his music is organic, grown from within, and not so much a contrived set-piece...This has advantages. Rivers sings from the heart." - Music Emissions

"Nico Rivers - To The Bone Review - Music Emissions"

"There are very few artists who can make whistling a successful part of their musical repertoire. David Gedge did it on the finest of all Wedding Present tracks, "Everyone Thinks He Looks Daft", but very few others are there whom I can recall. Los Angeles based Massachussetts native, Nico Rivers, manages a few whistles on "Birds", and then again on "Oildrips" off his solo EP, To the Bone." - Music Emissions

"CJ Plain of Back Roads Radio"

"Molotovs & Medicine is a perfect way to sum up Nico River's music. It will ignite your soulful passion and heal your musical sickness. His music has an instinct, a passion, and a flair that can't be taught. You either have it or you don't. Nico has it." - CJ Plain of Back Roads Radio

"Day Twenty-Eight: Nico Rivers at the Dragonfly Bar"

"It is this ability to go back to the drawing board over and over and over again that most characterizes the progression of Nick’s music. He was not born with the ability to sing and dance and play guitar and harmonica and tambourine simultaneously, he learned all of it, inch by inch. I’ve never met anyone who can so consistently turn down a sunny LA Saturday full of drinking and lounging in favor of working on music in a gloomy bedroom, but that’s Nick. Even though I think he might be a robot, I still admire him a lot." - Jessica O'Byrne

"Day Twenty-Eight: Nico Rivers at the Dragonfly Bar"

"He was sweaty and imperfect, juggling all of his instruments along with his intense vocals and showmanship. The bar was crowded in spite of an early time slot, a testament to the tireless effort he puts into promoting his shows. And, as usual, he fucking rocked. " - Jessica O'Byrne

"Pine Mountain Casket - Viscera for Reason Album Review"

"Viscera for Reason is sturdy and reliable, making for one hell a debut record that needs to be heard." - Brian Campbell writes of Nico's work with Pine Mountain Casket -

"Live Review: Pine Mountain Casket at the Little Joy"

"As the band launches into their first number of the night I hear a heavy Led Zepplin influence and it brings me at ease and reminds me that I'm in Los Angeles.... Heavy free love. I notice right away these guys have a presence, it's subtle and totally natural tho but obvious when they're playing."
- Michael Van London - Spark Plug Magazine (Jul 21, 2011)
