"Nicotine Poetic's First Show Review"

Next up was NICOTINE POETIC. This is an acoustic duo who actually approached us on Myspace, and we finally had the chance to hear them. Actually, this was their first public appearance so we are excited that we got to be there. NICOTINE POETIC consists of JEFF WYLES & JAY ETHERTON. Jeff does most of the lead singing and Jay plays guitar. The first thing we noticed was Jay's 3 guitars. They were all identical, but each were tuned for a different sound. Having just started working together in the summer of 2007; each coming from other bands, they seem to have a great act going. As you check out their Myspace page, you will see just what talented songwriters these young men are. Take the time to listen to the words to "For what's it worth", a song Jeff wrote for his grandfather. Its really moving. Since this was their first gig, we could tell they were a little nervous. Jeffs vocals are good, being better at certain types of songs. "Walking in Memphis" being an especially good song for his voice as well as the Americ song "Sister Goldenhair". Jay is a craftsman when it comes to playing those guitars. At times, it sounded like more than one person playing. They have a lot of fun performing and are pretty entertaining between songs as well as during. We are confident that as they continue to perform together, they will get better and better. We are hoping to work with these guys on some charity events and will definitely be checking them out again. After the show they were nice enough to pose for a "Rear View" so don't forget to check out the slide show. - Rearviews and Reviews
