Nigel “NiGE Hood” Hood’s background, life and aspirations have influenced his music and perspective on the world. NiGE grew up in the suburbs of Charlotte, NC and at a young age knew that he wanted to have an influence on people. NiGE started his musical journey in 2007, as a high school senior, releasing his first mixtape (released "Lost Boy: Dynamics of a Child of Color".) which included an array of topics and sound that one had never heard before. He was deep and took time to metaphorically break down his subconscious.
NiGE’s music was like a breath of fresh air in this time of turmoil and much musical confusion. NiGE continued to compose, make beats, and also draw which tied into the releasing of his sequel mixtape "QC CHILLIN"(just giving a brief at the ‘Queen City’ and how he encountered it), which was heavily downloaded and graciously received by the internet and social networking communities. Not too long afterwards NiGE released his 3rd mixtape , "F+ What You Heard", and the word began to swarm that NiGE HOOD is a talent destined for Hip-Hop's center Spotlight.
As NiGE Hood pursues a degree in History he has more leeway and backing to his lyrical content. In 2011 artist opened up for Kendrick Lamar and Ace Hood at NCCU’s Homecoming concert. He is now more profound than ever. He realized quickly that the game needed more from him so he releases a 4th mixtape Summer Suburban Sounds, which was totally original from the album art, down to the unconventional bass lines.
NiGE HOOD is not your average rapper. No, NiGE HOOD's music is different. It's edgy, it's deep, and it’s more creative, it's better. With his vibrant array of topics, choice beat selection and lyrical ferocity, there are not many who cannot relate to, react to or enjoy the music NiGE HOOD delivers.
