OVERVIEW
Born in 1982 in Melbourne and currently living in Newcastle, NSW, Australia, his pursuit is to be authentic. Armed with a pocket-sized New Testament and an Australian-made guitar he captures life experiences and personal convictions in a musical package. Now he is taking the opportunity to travel and share his passion with anyone who will listen.

"Many people in my generation are hopeless and crying out for answers. Religion won't even fix the problem. I believe it's time somebody stands up, speaks the Truth, and is prepared to be criticized and misunderstood for what he believes. Everyone may not agree with my message... So what? I wasn't called to be famous, but I am called to share the reason for the hope that lies within me.

I don't want to be confined to the walls of a church building. Surprisingly, I've had better response amongst non-Christians with my stuff. People respect me once they understand I'm not trying to put on a show. My life is the message, and music is just another way of getting it across."

HISTORY
Nigel was born in 1982 in Melbourne, and after a long fascination with music, picked up his father's 1976 Maton guitar and decided to learn some chords. Since 1999 he has been playing guitar, singing, and songwriting and has compiled a collection of over 250 songs.

In 2002 Nigel formed an all-originals band called Silas as main songwriter and guitarist. The following year he won the Christian Rock Eisteddfod Songwriting Competition with his song "Fool" written as the finale song for the themed event. Notably, at least 6 of his songs are currently sung in churches across NSW.

In 2006, Nigel visited the USA to establish some contacts and familiarise himself with the global scene. The first trip covered Nashville, Memphis, New Orleans, Atlanta, Boston, Buffalo, Chicago, and Denver, where he impressed audiences with his originals in such venues as coffee shops and open mics. He returned to the USA later in the year to perform at venues in Portland, Oregon, one of which was a TV appearance with Jim Cropper.

Nigel returned to the USA and Canada in 2007 and performed in Vancouver, Nashville, and Toronto with his brother Stephen on drums in coffee shops, pubs, and churches. He followed that up with a mission trip to Guatemala and El Salvador in 2008 playing his songs in churches and on a special retreat in the Guatemalan jungle and was very well received.

The same year he played with local band "Downside Up" as electric guitarist and singer, and recently he has launched out solo to pursue the direction closest to his heart.
