The 2007 USA Songwriting Contest is my first competition entry, so I chose to do just a melody and an original lyric. No frills. I have with me my lyrics for a Billie Holiday musical, I'd love to meet someone with show arranger skills.

Blues is direct, honest and full of feeling, it's about today, right now..and as a newsman who lived with deadlines for decades, I love telling stories in my songs. I love to surprise the listener and make them laugh. To get to the USA I sold all my blues albums...a wrench, yes, but the genius of that music is in my bones now.
