NIKKI HORNSBY

Nikki Hornsby worked her selling flower seeds to get her first guitar. She took piano, accordian, and trumpet lessons but taught herself to play guitar and sing. She starting writing songs at young age of 5 years of age too shy to perform until high school and then was contracted and paid as a fulltime artist throughout school into college. Nikki Hornsby constantly worked and invested her earnings in her career which paid for house, cars, vans, RVs, rental income property, and a good life as a club performer. Investors approached her many times during her career to record her music but she turned them down until she was able to know where the money would be spent. Then she finally accepted the funds to record her originals just to prove merit as the businessman, Ken Herbert, said is all he wanted in return. The next businessmen. Pete Bentivoja of the LA Times invested & wanted her to chart her own songs in the major charts in the USA since she'd charted prior music throughout Europe even with a number one in Spain. Her abilities to let the musical product speak for itself as she continued to work in clubs was remarkable doing her own contracts and marketing world wide. She was nominated four different years to the board of directors of the ACM (Academy of Country Music) and continued to write music as well as care for those less fortunate like her older brother who needed a heart transplant. Nikki devoted a "Reaching Out" CD with potential earnings directly for his needs but he died before it was released.
In 2004 Nikki Hornsby under some personal stressful life threatening circumstances brought on by a failed partnership liquidated assets and traveled with a new recorded project forward to Europe to repeat the prior successes. Her music was proven to be as acceptable in the world as it always had been. CNN International TV played one of her songs during the international world cup soccer championship finals and a video clip can be found online. She then joined the NARAS professional industry organization and was listed on the first Grammy ballot in eight places in 2006. Unfortunately when returning to the USA to finish another step in the project that took her to Europe she was injured in the flight home. Nikki Hornsby in 2008 was also broadsided in her car & went to the hospital then too. She suffered deeply two years of not being able to play guitar or write music without pain or had no desire to sing again until 2009. Her traumas were extensive but she has not forgotten why she has been alive and it's the music that helps her rise up again & again.
