Nikki Jonet

Nikki Jonet grew up in New York City. After performing at the Apollo Theater and winning at the age of 13 she decided to start writing and recording her own music. She met her keyboard player while attending Boston University in 2009. Both raised in the musical theater "world", they decided to incorporate their knowledge of stage performance and theatrics into a "pop" sound. After creating the Broken Black Balloons EP in 2011 with Grammy-Award Winning producer Mike Mangini, they began playing out around New York City on the lower east side circuit at places like the Bitterend and Bowery Electric. After going to L.A. to create her next EP with Loopport founder Ryan Federico (coming out this Fall), Jonet wanted to incorporate her own version of dance influenced percussion and brought in her long-time friend and New York based DJ, DJ DANGA. Their stage dynamic is fun, quirky, and something new for the next generation of kids who want to listen to quality music that can still keep them moving their feet to the beat...
