"Bridges"
A RIVER OF MUSIC:
Bridging the Danube valley with Epirus region in Greece,
Thrace and the Bosphorus...
An original cultural collaboration uniting two countries, Greece and Hungary, created by the Hungarian Culture Ambassadress and "Artist for Peace" for UNESCO, singer Marta Sebestyen and important Hungarian and Greek musicians. A production that connects like a "bridge" the traditional music of the two countries.
In "Bridges" project the music of Csangos from Transylvania flirts with the pentatonic scale of Epirus and the dancing tradition of Tanchaz is searching its match in a zonaradiko dance of Thrace. A very important cultural and music project that follows the steps of legendary prince Kantemire up to Bosphorus Sea, at the cross-culture meeting point, Istanbul.
The worldwide premiere of that unique project took place in Thessaloniki as a part of the Hungarian participation in T.I.F - Thessaloniki International Trade Fair (September 2010) and was absolutely successful. The artistic result produced by the combination of Hungarian and Greek music amazed the audience and the critics.
