Nils West

Hey There ! Im Nils. I'm a blond, 20 years old Singer/Songwriter from a small town in northern germany. Like many other artists I was surrounded by music at a early age, in my case my father who is a Hard Rock guitarist and who raised and supported me therefore musically. With the age of 12 I teached myself the guitar and started to write songs. I probably started because I thought I'd attract girls that way but songwriting turned out as not just a hobby but as a valve for coping with emotions, happiness and pain. Simply put, it became therapy and I started to write multiple songs per day. By now I wrote over 2500 songs, finished 2 ep's and my debut album "@". My genre is a mix of acoustic pop and hip hop, as I'm a huge english hip hop/rap fan (especially the old school stuff).
In 2018 I attended a songwriter slam, my first real gig ever. I told myself that if I'd do good as the most unexperienced contestent there, I would quit planning on becoming a doctor and go the extra mile for becoming a successful musician. How it turned out you ask ? Well I'm here and fighting my corner, right ?
I started playing every gig I could and in 2020 I travelled with very little money through europe, lived in my car and busked to earn money for food. I ended up playing a lot of gigs, meeting international music stars and playing at a swiss charity gala on which I played in front of over a hunderd people, appeared in the news and grew a lot as an artist. So, what now ? With the will to give everything I have and to work the hardest I can, I'm currently studying at the BIMM Institute Hamburg in order to become the best artistic version of myself. Maybe we'll see each other at a gig and have a beer.
