NINA

Nina Capone formally known as Lay-D- Bug began touring with Loni Gamble (formal member of the Stylistics) in 1991. Nina became known throughout Pennsylvania for her rap song that she performed live with the band Sound Checque titled "Lay-D- Bugs in the house." Nina Capone aka Lay-D- Bug toured with Loni and the band for 4 years. During this time Nina performed at three annual Unity Day concerts held in Williamsport PA. These Concerts were held each year in Brandon Park to unite the people in the surrounding communities. Nina was also given the opportunity to write and perform a Public Service Announcement titled "We Are The Young", which was done as a video and aired on cable access channels for one year. The video was created to gear youth away from using drugs. Nina also had the opportunity to be included in a contract granted by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections to tour the Pennsylvania prisons in 1992 & 1993. After doing the tours Loni, Sound Checque & Lay-D-Bug (Nina) was invited to be the opening act for the Temptations on December 2nd 1993 at the Williamsport Community Center, which turned out to be a great success. Many other live performances followed in many other cities such as Philadelphia, Allentown, Baltimore, Pittsburgh. Nina’s rap style has matured over the years but the dedication and love for music is still as fresh and pure as it was eleven years ago.

Now taking the city of Philly by storm Nina Capone has been featured on TV48 Urban X-Pressions as well as Power 99fm and 103.9 The Beat. Performing on stage with well known artist such as 'Freeway' Flipmode Squad's 'Rampage','HK', 'Total Vision', and 'Cee Knowledge formerly of Digable Planets. Ms. Capone has recently finished recording a remix version of 'Shake Ya Groove Thang' with music legends "Peaches & Herb". The song was produced by Philly's own Joe 'The Butcher' Nicolo who's credits include 'Boyz II Men' . Next on Nina's plate will be the release of the Phat Farm Mix CD which she is featured on mix by Phat Farm's DJ Tayrock .

Recent additions includes Pittsburgh's Mix tape "DJ Cadillac" Steel city Album, Mixed collaborations with a host of Philadelphia signed and unsigned hype.
