New York DIY rapper Nino Augustine, a native of Panama, mixes hip-hop, Latin, rock and jazz on his new single, “Soul Kitchen,” produced by Brandon “Biro” Rowan. Bio
Nino Augustine began his career in music in his hometown of Panama City, Panama. More specifically, the district of San Miguelito. He began writing music in Spanish, his native language, and playing around with arrangements when he was just seven years old. Three years later Nino moved to America with his family and slowly began to learn English, in which his writing skills augmented to include English lyrics.
Nino has been recording professionally since the age of 16. He dedicated majority of his late teens and early 20's developing his musical skills, and to school which lead him to matriculation in Global Business in 2011.
After being satisfied with his College accomplishments Nino felt ready and that it was time to start publishing music. Late 2012 he released his first single Soul Kitchen which led to great reviews, and started the momentum for his first solo effort titled From The Bottom of my Soul LP which was released April 2, 2013. The free album was well received with over 50,000 plays and gained some worthy media in the US, Brazil, UK, Japan, Mexico, and Venezuela to name a few.
In August of 2013 Nino moved to Atlanta in search of a new creative scene. Soon after Nino Augustine & OPE Band (Only Positive Energy) was formed. After the formation of the band soon they would start doing shows in the city of Atlanta, Ga. Some of the venues include Masquerade, Vinyl, Smiths Olde Bar, and The Bassement. Nino and The OPE Band have been leading a movement which promotes Only Positive Energy via music. The band is currently preparing their first effort together which is set to be released in the Winter of 2014.
