Bio

23 year old Bajan rapper Nitro EvaHype has a point to prove.
Hailing from the 166 square miles island of Barbados, affectionately known as the Rock, Nitro has been releasing a steady stream of music in the local, regional and international markets. Nitro’s style is a combination of hip hop, dancehall, R&B and pop, listen as he effortlessly blends the genres to create a sound of his own. He shows versatility and range beyond his years and speaks on what he knows best - social commentary. He verbalizes the struggles of a Caribbean hip hop artist, while not forgetting the ladies.
Working out of Barbados’ premier studios, Phrequency Studios - Adam Worrell, Triple E Studios - Strat Carter and Quantum Productions - his older brother Randy Eastmond. Nitro has been shaping his sound with the guidence of talented producers and personal friend/ coach Paul Parris.
Nitro has been covered in the local and regional press, including Barbados’ leading newspaper “The Nation” and has a major online fan base through his Nitro TV brand. His exposure has expanded internationally through websites including XXL Mag, Global Grind, Shadyville Caribbean all of which have showcased his music. Nitro’s movement is being fueled in the States through early supporters the world famous Black Chiney, The Haitian Heavy Hitter Shortman Movements, DJ Blaze in the DMV Tri State Area (DC, Maryland, VA) and Global Grind exec Datwon Thomas. Thomas, former Editor in Chief of XXL Magazine, first heard Nitro on a trip to Barbados and he says Nitro “has the swag, timing and mainstream appeal” to become an international player on the music scene.
Nitro released his mixtape The H.A.S. Project EP which was hosted by Black Chiney and Shortman Movements around November 2009 which made a major impact among all his followers. You can also catch him on the remixes to Universal Motown artist Hal Linton’s “Murderer” and Denice Stone’s “Eh Yo”, which is currently bubbling in the NY metro area and Florida. He has also worked with Jay Wonder who works along with Whyclef Jean.
Nitro’s road to success has been paved thanks to the spotlight Barbados has shining on it through Pop star Rihanna and the success of Shontelle, Hal Linton, Jaicko and others in the mainstream. Nitro promises to carry the torch of the Bajan Invasion, as he says “we global now, time to show the world what this Caribbean Hip Hop thing is and prove that we can make Hip Hop music just as good, or even better, than anyone else”.
Currently Nitro is working with Babgirl Management & Promotions who's CEO is Leanne Arnal, a very highly ranked artist manager and promoter. Also in 2011 he will be working with producers " The Hit Makerz" who are responsible for most of the major anthems from the rap group "Dipset" and also Jay Z.
