Rostrum/Universal recording artist, Nitty, reclaims the #1 position with “Nasty Girl” from wrestling superstar Hulk Hogan’s offspring Brooke Hogan this week on Billboard’s Singles Sales Chart. Entering his 7th week on the Singles Chart at #1, Nitty also continues to chart on the Billboard Monitor Mainstream Top 40 airplay chart across America.
Written and co-produced by Nitty, “Nasty Girl” is the first taste of what is to come. Nitty recently shot a video for his smash single and is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on his debut full-length CD, slated February 2006.

With the well known sample from the The Archies 70’s classic “Sugar, Sugar” and its infectious chorus “Nasty Girl”, became an instant hit proving that he is more than prepared to make his dream a reality. The evidence being that “Nasty Girl” is already #1 in Australia - putting him in the company of today’s premiere rappers, as he takes over one territory at a time. Earlier this year “Nasty Girl” topped the Billboard Single Sales Chart as the #1 selling single for 8 consecutive weeks on the Mainstream Monitor Chart.

To most, adversity can bring negativity. However, for Nitty, less than luxurious surroundings in the Fort Apache section of the Bronx only inspired him to be a positive force in the lives of others. Solace and motivation were found in his love for music and his yearning to be a performer. From the time he was a little kid in the 80’s he knew entertaining was his destiny.
Nitty’s sole mission is to make hip-hop creatively fun again. Nitty explains, “music shouldn’t be solely based on the problems of the world but also about people enjoying life and the freedom of letting loose and having a good time”.
Nitty’s charisma and mainstream appeal sets him apart from the other artists in his genre, that captivating mix makes him accessible to a variety of audiences worldwide. Nitty’s goal is to create a new blueprint for the next generation of artists minus the “chip on his shoulder”. He asserts, “making music universally acceptable is a priority”. Everyone should be able to enjoy my music whether their from the streets or the suburbs, good music is just that, “good music”.
