"Guerilla"

"There’s nothing about NIXA to suggest that this is the work of a fledgling band. Astonishingly assured and bursting at the seams with weighty riffs, Guerilla packs more ideas into its short running time than many established acts manage in an entire album. The speedy, fat-bottomed 33 blends sweeping metal melodies with a disco beat that transforms into percussive carnage. It frequently heads off in serpentine directions that are thrillingly unpredictable. Meanwhile, Clarity strips back the layers to reveal the emotion in the bands moving three-part harmonies. If this is a taster of what’s to come on their first full length, you’ll be hearing more from this lot."

"Guerilla"

"Treading a fine line between the commercial and the underground, this London quartet play a brand of supermassive, balls-out rock that successfully marries radio-friendly melodies with occasional post-rock dabbling. The result is a compelling and rather bombastic showcase of epic song structures, colossal choruses and swirling riffs that would make a huge impact onstage as well as the stereo. There’s plenty of emotional draw here too, by and large thanks to the dual vocal layerings; a pair of glorious harmonies that deliver a deep gravelly gut-punch. This band are a credit to the rock scene."

"Guerilla"

"...done very, very well. Deep, powerful voice, BIG music and just the feeling that something very professional is happening -I don't mean in a clinical way, just in that way that, when you find out they're unsigned, it's a bit of a shock!"
Marsha Shandur, XFM - XFM

"Guerilla"

"We were so excited when we heard this tune today, we were like: 'woah! this is awesome, man!" I'm so excited about this band, there's big voice, big riffs, big energy…. from the sound of this I think I'm gonna love them long time. This is the tune that has been creating a buzz around the Kerrang! office." [plays the song, planets align, world peace achieved] "Brand new from Nixa, "33". I love that tune. I am bang on that band."
Henry Evans, Kerrang! Radio - Kerrang! Radio

"NIXA possess a quality that sets them apart from other front runners on the alt/rock scene with perfect dynamics and incredible song craft. They bounce between gentle and aggressive in a single beat, tied with soaring harmonies and mesmerising stage presence. This band will find themselves being listened to by a wide audience, no doubts in both the alternative and commercial rock scenes"

--------------

It’s a raw and rare moment when a live band totally blows you away. Watching four young feverish musicians pouring every ounce of their life and souls into 30 minutes of heart pounding fury; tunnel vision sets in, the room around you melts away and you suddenly realise you have forgotten to breath.

For London based band NIXA, this is their life. Pumping unrelenting energy into every show they play, each as fresh and vitalic as the last. This is why they’ve been requested as support for Feeder on their all important return to London this June.

Not a band to let even disastrous bad luck hold them back, frontman Russ severed nerves in his hand before their first headline Barfly show, so he filled it with superglue wrapped it up in gaffa tape and played the show of his life. NIXA are a band with the determination and boundless energy to consistently tour, run their own label, promote other bands and still write mammoth killer singles. Lead guitarist and vocalist Jam often quotes the Latin phrase Aut Viam Inveniam Aut Faciam meaning I will either find a way or make one.

Their enthusiasm is as infectious as their melodies and it’s with both that NIXA sweep up fans everywhere they tour. Their tunes are so huge and hook laden, even at points bombastic, some songs seem almost too big for their boots, to be coming from a band so young on their first EP. But NIXA have worked and played hard for the last year, supporting and finding inspiration from bands like ASIWYFA and perfecting a Biffyish blend of husky harmonics and oceansized song structures. Now it’s time to start releasing some records. The debut album comes out in autumn 2010 following a run at UK festivals.
