NjS

In this new era of music, an artist has to do a lot more than just stand out, and these guys are doing just that. The bilingual Japanese-American Jazz Hip-Hop rappers Flow Zen and Kuga, comprising the hip-hop group, NjS, hail from the west coast in the city of fog, San Francisco, CA. The two had been DJing together for seven years when, in a hotel room in Osaka, Japan in 2007, they began what later became NjS, and the rest is history.

Since then, the two artists have had many successes including earning spots on two Coast 2 Coast mixtapes (vol. 219 and 220), alongside artists such as Rihanna, Drake, Ne-yo, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, E-40, Kendrick Lamar, B.O.B., Lil Flip, Young Jeezy, and Rick Ross. They have also collaborated and maintain ongoing relations with Redbull and the clothing company, Prohibit NYC, were finalists in the 2012 and 2013 USA Songwriting Competition (top 10 worldwide in the hip-hop category), were semi-finalists in the 2012 and 2013 International Songwriting Competition (top 9% out of over 20,000 entries), were semi-finalists in the Unsigned Only Music Competition, and have been a featured artist on www.talenthouse.com.

The duo has performed in California and at many of the most well known clubs in Tokyo, Japan. Taking their music internationally has always been a central goal of NjS, and coming off their recent success in Japan, the two rappers appear ready to continue pushing forward, expanding, and chasing the dream.
