It's all about a fabulously talented upcoming artist by the name of Nmisol. Island Stage allowed TSP the honor of doing a little Q&A.

Scroll on down and get to know this young man.
Then log onto his page and check out the tracks. HOT!
I also heard from a little birdie that his hot new video for his hot single (ck his page) will premiere this Sunday, April 26th.

Stay tuned...

Shilo
Greetings king. I've been hearing a lot about you. (all positive I must add)
How have you been?

Nmisol
I'm blessed and highly favored and yourself?

Shilo
I 'ditto' that sentiment. Before I get too far into this, your stage name, Nmisol. Very unusual. Can you break it down for us. Why did you choose that name? I already know, but for many who may be curious, please elaborate.

Nmisol
Well honestly, I was sitting vibing about a name of a cologne fragrance I would introduce if I ever had the oppurtunity and God gave me Nmisol. I think a person is who he or she is inside. God, music and everything I love is in my soul.
Shilo
You are very passionate about your music. Where does the inspiration come from?

Nmisol
Honestly, hearing all the negativity on the radio, seeing the world in shambles, and all the kids clueless about what real life is inspires me. Knowing that one of my songs helped someone through the day is also inspiration.
Shilo
You have been honing your craft since age fourteen. Impressive. Can you remember the turning point? What made you realize that music was your destiny?

Nmisol
I have been singing since I can remember, but probably during high school...singing with the gospel choir, I knew this was my calling. I sang a solo at a church and received a standing ovation that sent shock waves through my body. The song was "Tomorrow" by the Winans.
Shilo
Listening to your music, I can tell you have many musical influences. What are some
of the genres you enjoy vibing to?

Nmisol
You know, there's no particular genre. I just respect a good song with meaning.

Shilo
Who are some of the people (not just artists) who have influenced your art?

Nmisol
Definitely my mom and my grand mother. [Also] the entire Memphis sound like Al Green, Issac Hayes, Orlando Drapers- he was so tight but he passed. 2Pac...man I'm feeling Anthony Hamilton. It's so many but that person called Life is the most influencial.
Shilo
Tell us about Lab Boyz?

Nmisol
Those were my dudes right there. They are all still in Dallas. I met them in Dallas when I moved to Texas, with a high school buddy ex NBA player, Tony Dumas. I had another friend from school out there named Joe Hunt and he knew of a group trying to pursue music also. I went to the studio to meet them and we instantly clicked. We ended up recording two albums together and performed at numerous shows around the metroplex areas.

Shilo
Is the group still together, or is it just straight solo for Nmisol?

Nmisol
Unfortunately, the group is no longer together, but I still communicate with a couple members. This will be a solo effort, but I will be introducing a sensational female vocalist by the name of Charlene Banks.

Shilo
I see you have been on the grind and opening shows around the country for various
artists. Tell us a little more about where music has taken you?

Nmisol
I did a small tour around the Phoenix area. Opened up for Petey Pablo, BG of Cash Money and [did] some car shows..but none on the level where God is about to take us.

Shilo
Tupac. 'The Tupac of the South' is what you are sometimes called? Do you
feel that creates pressure for you, or are you cool with the comparison?

Nmisol
They used to call me that. I have no problems with that. He was well respected. I don't feel any pressure because once they hear me, they will see I'm me and he was Pac. I do feel we were cut from the same cloth.
Shilo
Your Publicist has informed me that your latest video is amazing.
What song is this video for?

Nmisol
Its a song called "Crank it Up". It's pretty tight for the budget we had, so I'm thankful to have one completed.
Shilo
Who shot the video and when will we be able to see it?

Nmisol
Lance Mora was the director. You will be hearing alot from him...he has already won a couple of awards at some film festivals. Anyone looking for the video, we will be premering it this Sunday on MySpace, facebook and youtube. This is a very special day all around because its my birthday.

Shilo
Wishing for you a GOD blessed birthday. I jumped into this interview so quickly, I neglected to ask you a little bit about yourself. What's the name on your birthpaper, where are you from and where do you currently reside?

Nmisol
My birth name is Rosha Joyner born in Memphis Tn. and I currently reside in Las Vegas.
Shilo
If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would that place be?

Nmisol
Probably in Memphis, at the Fed Ex Forum and second the Potters House in Dallas.
That's TD Jakes' church.
Shilo
If you could collaborate with any artist in the world, who would that person be?

Nmisol
Wow! Can I give you a few because thats hard. Yolanda Adams first. Anthony Hamilton, Jennifer Hudson, Deitrick Haddon, Crystal Aikins and a high school friend, Earnest Pugh. He's a known gospel artist as well.
Shilo
Where do you see yourself in say, five years?

Nmisol
Probably in Tennesee doing a lot of writing for different artists. Performing all over the world and starting a charter school called "Wings for Teens".
Shilo
Give me a favorite quote that gets you through your day.

Nmisol
"I'm shooting for the moon, but its cool if I land on a star". Or, 'if you do what you love you'll always love what you do'.
Shilo
If fans want to link with you, is there a website, MySpace page or somewhere
on the net we can find you?

Nmisol
Honestly, I have the hardest working manager in the business, so I'm everywhere. Places I don't even know...hahaha...I ususally send people to www.myspace.com/nmisolinmysoul
Shilo
What projects are you working on currently?

Nmisol
I'm working on my debut album as we speak. Right now the album is called '2 Chronicles 7:14'.
Shilo
Who is your management team?

Nmisol
You know, we might want to contact you for various reasons. Susan Underwood. You can find her on my MySpace page or Island Stage which is her very own project.
Shilo
Is there anything you would like to mention that I have neglected to ask?

Nmisol
I just want my family, friends and fans to go out and support the Nmisol Movement. It's time to bring God to the forefront of all our lives. I'm not looking for fame, I'm just repping his name. Once again, go to www.myspace.com/nmisolinmysoul and support the cause.
Shilo
Nmisol, may GOD continue to bless and strengthen you. Don't be a stranger now, ok?

Nmisol
I won't be and feel free to holla at me anytime...God Bless!
