Bio

Bursting with the hope of a new day's dawn, Noa embodies a rock n' roll that is both spirited and persuasive. With inspirations that include James, The Smiths, U2, The Police, The Stone Roses, Big Country, The Cure and Simple Minds, these four gentlemen have carved out a sound that is refreshing, yet somewhat familiar.

Singer Matthew Kayser and guitarist Stephen Couch formed Noa in 2005 while living in New York City. After performing at venerable clubs such as CBGB's, Sin-e, The Knitting Factory and Don Hill's, they sensed a calling to a different location. This brought them to Johnson City, Tennessee. A few short weeks later, they met drummer Andrew Gibbens and bassist Cody Ledford. The result has been a band that is now getting attention throughout the Southeast for their moody, yet triumphant, songs and live show.

Led by their always intriguing front man, Matthew Kayser, the band brings to the table a live show that is unpredictable and entertaining. Kayser, with a passionate vocal styling that sways from Jim Morrison one minute to Axl Rose the next, is the type of lead singer who always manages to keep audiences interested and wanting more. With a vast array of sounds, guitarist Stephen Couch provides the atmosphere and mood that fuel Noa's infectious and triumphant songs. Drummer Andrew Gibbens provides the perfect touch, and is the musical backbone of the band. Cody Ledford provides a melodic and energetic bass, and is a key contributor to the band's songwriting.

Inspired by their respective spiritual and relational journeys, Noa sing of the adoration, anticipation, hope, and frustration so often found in love. With a yearning for bigger and better things, Noa aspire to the greatness of the bands who have influenced and inspired them.
