Something About Trains

Somethin About Trains
By: Nancy Line & Candy Kattenburg

(Sound of clickety-clack.)

When I hear the sound of clickety-clack.
It reminds me of those days with Daddy
Yeah, it take me back.
To the times we spent together watchin
the trains, comin down the tracks.

Chorus: There's somethin about trains, I just can't explain.
I could get on board one every day.
When I hear the whistle blow, I forget all my troubles
As it soothes my soul.

The smell of the sweet engine oil, the thrust of the brakes.
The way the earth beneath my feet would shake.
The rush of the wind in my face,
As another locomotive moves on it's way.

Chorus:
There's somethin about trains, I just can't explain.
I could get on board one every day.
When I hear the whistle blow,
I forget about my troubles as it soothes my soul.

One day Daddy took me to watch the trains.
He said, son close your eyes, today I have a surprise.
As he placed a ticket in my hand,
He said today we won't just watch, we'll ride.

Chorus:

We gazed out the windows watchin life pass by.
A day I won't forget until the day I die
Just me & Daddy on that train.
The bond we shared together, still remains.

Repeat Chorus:

(Ending sound of whistle blowing)
