Americans have never really forgotten about race and racism. Individuals in the media try to persuade us that it's getting better here in the United States, but sorry folks, it's still a huge problem. At this moment, turn on your tv, race and racism is at the forefront of the news. Obama shakes it off, dealing with it like the pro we knew he'd be.
If you want to see a group of folks honestly addressing race and racism head on in a very funny and un-pc way, and you find yourself wandering around the East Villiage in New York City on a Thursday night (Tomorrow night), I encourage you to check out The Soul Glo project and see Nobody's Token: the all black improv comedy group.
The mission of Nobody’s Token is to bring back the GOOD Black sitcom through improv comedy. Every performance is a fully improvised half hour sitcom based on suggestions from the audience - even including previews and commercial breaks created on the spot.

Bio

Nobody's Token was born out of a desire to showcase a collection of some of the most talented African American improv comedians and writers in New York. Keisha Zollar and Robert King, who had both been performing improv comedy in New York since 2003, founded Nobody’s Token in 2009. They gathered a group of actors and writers from varied performing backgrounds, including The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, The Peoples Improv Theatre NBC, College Humor, and Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, to create a live improvised show.

Nobody's Token creates memorable characters and wacky situations nightly, in fun environments that have never been seen before. Borrowing from your favorite sitcom plots and situations, NBT creates a brand new comedy show for audiences raised on The Cosby Show and Fresh Prince of Bel Air. They welcome you to revel with wacky neighbors, lovable loser dads, smart-aleck kid sisters, and all your favorite sitcom friends.

Along with performing at Hofstra and New York University, Nobody's Token has brought their one-of-a-kind show to The North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival (DSI), Charleston, Boston, Baltimore, and Pheonix Improv Festivals.
