In 2007 Chris Ward got together with songwriter Holly Laessig (Lucius) to create a new sound that combined classical, rock, jazz and electronica in the vein of Bjork, Radiohead, and Portishead. Holly Laessig is an Ohio native, who moved on to study at Berklee College of Music where they met. Since arriving in New York, she has made her impression on both the jazz and indie folk scenes, heavily inspired by the tightknit group of songwriters in the city.
