Bio
Formed in 2007 by Jordan and Matthew, No Jet Left began as a way to deal with the breakup and lack of recording that Jordan's previous band had. Soon they found themselves working on finishing their debut EP, now you're all fucked. The sound was influenced by artists like Beck, My Bloody Valentine, Dinosaur Jr, Beat Happening, Blur, Pixies, and a handful of others. After the EP was released, shows were played, and the lineup was altered on a seemingly monthly basis until both founders relocated to Santa Cruz from Culver City. Finally solidifying the band's membership, the band began to work in more experimental influences. Each member has various influences: Jordan credits shoegaze and classic punk (MBV and The Ramones are a couple), Matthew draws influence from noise and experimental (Merzbow and Jandek are popular mentions), Tom draws from God knows what, and Ian from death metal (The Faceless and Cattle Decapitation are two perennial favorites). Unlike other bands, No Jet Left is hugely catchy while blending in noise and other experimental aspects that normally make things too dense and unapproachable for people. Also, an energetic live show that often sees the band unleash the fury of a thousand suns, ripping through each song with precision and intensity.
