Bio

Our influences range from Bulgarian village music to old songs of the Caribbean to prisoner and slave songs, from the Five Blind Boys and Reverend Bigelow to Tom Waits and Grandaddy, from Os Mutantes and obscure hip hop to Bjork and Radiohead. Cameron has well over a thousand records spanning most of the noise humans have been making from the beginning of the world. And there are at least 150 gigs of zero's and one's digital music between our harddrives.

We have a really rough, unpolished sound, but in a way that feels alive rather than unpracticed. We give every bit of ourselves to each song, bringing the music up from our souls, and singing it because we really mean it. We're not trying to be clever or cute or new or edgy or avantguard or ironic or satiric or sarcastic or original. The songs and music breaks forth from deep places within all of us and breathes back new life into all of us.

We started playing together in the spring of '06. We made music for our community to enter into the pain of hope deferred, of belief in overwhelming doubt. These songs moved all of us, so we decided to move forward together. We're all in it for something much bigger than ourselves, hoping to give voice to the deepest yearnings and greatest joys within all of us.
